The Democracy Research Institute (DRI) has been implementing a project titled “Preventing Far-Right Extremism in Georgia” since September 1.
The project aims to promote the prevention of far-right extremism by monitoring the activities of far-right violent groups and providing free legal aid to victims.
If you have been affected by intolerance or violence committed by far-right groups, delays in the investigation or discriminatory treatment by law enforcement agencies, the Democracy Research Institute offers you free legal aid.
As part of legal aid, DRI lawyers will assist you in drawing up documents and will defend your interests in the Georgian law enforcement agencies and courts.
The project is supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Georgia.
The case of
former de facto deputies of South Ossetia’s de facto parliament, David Sanakoyev,
Garry Muldarov and Dzambolat Medoyev, who are appealing the decision to revoke
their citizenship of the Russian Federation, remains unresolved to date.
To silence critical media, “Georgian Dream” tries to use financial sanctions. Following several television, online and radio broadcasters, regional media have now also been affected.
Issuance of movement permits, required for travel within and beyond Akhalgori district, has been resumed.
