On Thursday, September 26, 2019 the Democracy Research Institute (DRI) will host the presentation Understanding and Combating Far-Right Extremism and Ultra-Nationalism in Georgia. The presentation will start at 10:30 a.m. at Tbilisi Marriott Hotel.
Democracy Research Institute monitors Facebook pages of far-right groups and their leaders and observes patter of their activities in the social media with the financial support of the Embassy of the Netherlands. Nine online media outlets, fifteen far-right groups, and Facebook profiles of fifteen leaders are under DRI’s focus of attention.
In the frames of the event, DRI’s media researcher will present the media monitoring covering four months (May-August, 2019).
Furthermore, DRI has carried out monitoring of street rallies and demonstrations organized by far-right groups. During the presentation, the dangers posed by the empowerment of these groups will be discussed.

A series of online training on juvenile justice standards
