The Democracy Research Institute continues to monitor political activities and donors of the violent political group "Conservative Movement/Alt-Info". Alt-Info registered as a political party on December 7, 2021. Its leaders hold an openly pro-Russian position and actively engage in anti-Western campaigns.

The Amount of Money "Conservative Movement/Alt-Info" Received in 2023:

The officially declared amount donated to the "Conservative Movement/Alt-Info" from the beginning of 2022 to May 14, 2023, is 586,563 GEL. However, compared to 2022, the "Conservative Movement" funding this year is sharply reduced. From February to May 2022 the political group received 216,244 GEL in donations, while according to the data of January-May 2023, the amount of money donated was reduced to 25,599 GEL.

How Many Donors Does "Conservative Movement/Alt-Info" Have?

For the period of January to May 14, 2023, "Conservative Movement/Alt-Info" ranks second in the number of donors. Regarding the number of donors, the "Conservative Movement" is ahead of the ruling party and leading opposition parties and is second, only behind the Labor Party of Georgia. The Democracy Research Institute has written about this before.

However, compared to 2022, the number of their donors has decreased dramatically. The number of donations made to the “Conservative Movement/Alt-Info” from February 16, 2022, to May 2022 was 214, while from January 2023 to May 14, 2023, the political group received a total of 29 donations.

Who is Donating to the "Conservative Movement/Alt-Info"?

From February 2022 to May 2023, the party received donations from 102 donors. 101 of them are individuals and one is a legal entity. Out of these 101 donors, only 33 own real estate.

As a rule, the "Conservative Movement/Alt-Info" mostly gets donations from the same people. Only 21 people have donated money once. The remaining 91 donors have donated several times. For example, one person donated money to the party fifteen times, two persons - fourteen times, and three persons - thirteen times.

The most active donor of the openly pro-Russian group is Giorgi Khatiashvili. He is the head of the Tsnori regional office of the "Conservative Movement" and has donated money to his employer 15 times.

Gocha Khutsidze and Kakhaber Elizbarashvili have donated to the "Conservative Movement" 14 times; Giorgi Ratiani, Jimsher Bukhachauri, and Romanoz Gogiberidze - 13 times. Giorgi Ratiani and Jimsher Bukhachauri are the heads of the "Conservative Movement" regional offices. Giorgi Ratiani in Mestia and Jimsher Bukhachauri in Akhmeta.

Among the active donors of the party, only three - Kakhaber Elizbarashvili, Romanoz Gogiberidze, and Gocha Khutsidze - own real estate. Romanoz Gogiberidze is the director of "Zuka&Luka" LLC. while Kakhaber Elizbarashvili, the group’s biggest donor by far, owns 100% of “Dabo” LLC shares. The total amount donated by him is 41,745 GEL. The Democracy Research Institute has written about him before. As for Gocha Khutsidze, he is the founder of the Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti self-government resource center.
